This week we talk with Richard Raymond about his award winning short film “Souls of Totality” Starring Tatiana Maslany and Tom Cullen.

Richard Raymond started his career at Pinewood Studios when he was 15 years old, establishing himself as a regular face there while interning on movies such as Blake Edward’s Son of the Pink Panther, Richard Attenborough’s Shadowlands, Neil Jordan’s Interview With The Vampire and Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element.

In 2009 Richard produced the award-winning feature Heartless, starring Jim Sturgess. In 2015 Richard’s directorial debut “Desert Dancer” opened the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and screened at Lincoln Center, the U.S. Capitol, the United Nations and the Edinburgh International Film Festival, where it was the runner-up for the Audience Award. “Desert Dancer” was also nominated for the Golden Frog at Camerimage and was critically praised with Pete Hammond from Deadline claiming “A real screen triumph, powerful, inspiring and beautifully told!”

In 2018 Richard directed “Souls of Totality” starring Emmy winning actress Tatiana Maslany. The short film contains a single-take sequence shot during a solar eclipse, a first in cinema history. The film was officially selected at 12 Academy Award Qualifying festivals including; Tribeca, Palm Springs and Edinburgh, where it was awarded a special mention for direction.
